All India Campus Conference 2017 – Bangalore

The fifth edition of the All India Campus Conference was titled “Alpha and Omega” and was held in Bangalore from 28th-30th December. The conference was held at the Glorious Promised Land Retreat Center, nestled right near the foothills of Nandi, 52 kilometers from Bangalore. It was the largest participation yet for an AICC, with over 290 people registering for the conference. Participants came in from all parts of India as well as from both Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

The focus of the conference was on knowing God as against knowing about God, who is the beginning and the end, therefore the title “Alpha and Omega”. The 3 days were life changing, as every speaker spoke inspired by God. After each lesson the participants split into discussion groups to reflect and be open about the obstacles towards a spiritual life.

Sports and games are an integral part of the Campus Ministry, as everyone gets a chance to express themselves in those physical activities. Therefore teams were formed and some competitive Frisbee, tug-of-war and football were played.

Towards the end the participants stated the following as insights gained through the conference:

  • “Knowing about God and knowing God are different things. When we know God, we inevitably grow.”
  • “We also learnt not run from weaknesses but rather embrace them and look at them as a gift, with which when we persevere, we grow spiritually.”
  • “We learnt from Asaph, the psalmist that everyone can stumble and we need to turn back to the sanctuary when we do.
  • “We learnt that God can use our smallest deeds of faith to change the world just like how God used Abraham, Peter and so many others.”
  • “With the conference being at the end of year, the lessons helped us reflect on the past year, encouraged us and gave us hope about the new year and helped us make radical, personal and collective decisions to try to live lives that reflect Christ and do amazing things for God in 2018.”
